Game, Set, Smash

After my morning class at Perpetual Help System Dalta – Molino Campus, I sometimes head straight to Budz Badminton Court if I have extra time. The first thing I always do is stretch. Stretching feels so good because it wakes up my muscles and gets me ready to move. I usually roll my shoulders, reach for my toes, and do a few jumping jacks. It’s like telling my body, “Get ready, Sophia, it’s game time!

Once I’m all warmed up, I grab my racket and start playing with my coach. At first, we practice simple hits and footwork, but then things get more exciting. Smashes, quick moves, and chasing the shuttle back and forth. Sometimes I miss, but my coach always reminds me that practice makes progress. Every rally feels like a mini challenge, and winning even one point makes me so proud.

Playing badminton here isn’t just fun—it’s also healthy for me. It keeps me active, makes my heart stronger, and helps me stay focused even in school. I feel more energetic and less stressed after every session, like I can take on anything. Plus, it’s one of the best ways to improve my skills and maybe even inspire others to try it too. Badminton isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s a part of my adventure!
